Today I am creating a simple easy gorgeous Indian festival makeup looks for Raksha Bandhan. First of all, I give you some description of Raksha Bandhan. In India and South Asia Raksha Bandhan basically a popular annual festival, usually in August, during which a girl or woman gives a cotton bracelet (rakhi) to a brother or someone she considers as one, who in turn treats her as a sister.
This makeup look is very easy to create and you can carry this for any other festivals or occasions. Then let’s started today’s makeup tutorial.
Step by Step Festival Makeup Tutorial:
- Eye Makeup:
For this festival makeup look, I am starting with eye makeup. Match with my outfit I am using light green colour to pop up my eyes. Applying my DIY Face Primer to prepare my face for base makeup and also use as an eye primer. Now in India, weather is very humid and hot that’s why need primer to make my makeup longlasting and sweat-free.
Next, take matte brown eyeshadow shade and apply it on the crease line. It works as a transition colour for my eye makeup and it also contours my eyes. I am using Maybelline New York Nudes Eyeshadow Palette.
From same eyeshadow palette after that, apply two dark matte shade together: ash brown and black on my outer v and blend it towards the crease line.
Then take light green shimmery shade and place it with the help of my finger on the remaining eyelid. you can apply any colour to match with your outfits. Then take light golden shade from this palette and apply for highlight on the tear duct and brow bone.
Using Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner to create a winged liner. I do my eye makeup little bit dramatic with long-winged liner. But if you don’t want then skip this step or create as you like. You can also use any kajal or liquid liner.
Same gel liner I am applying on my 1/3 lower lash line and waterline. And join this with the winged to make a dramatic cat eyeliner eye look. If you don’t want that dramatic eye look then you can apply kajal simple on your lower waterline and just smudge it slightly.
To fill my eyebrow gap I am applying Maybelline Brow Cream Pencil in the shade brown.
To complete my eye look I am applying 2 coats mascara on my upper and lower lashes. In this makeup look, I am applying Oriflame VolumeBuild Mascara.
- Base Makeup:
I am doing a little bit heavy eye makeup and using shimmery shade. That’s why I do my base makeup(face makeup) after my eye makeup. Because I don’t want any eyeshadow fallout on my face, and that fallouts waste my all face makeup. If you want then you can do face makeup 1st and before doing your eye makeup.
I have already applied a DIY face primer. Now, take Lakme CC cream in the shade beige for my base and little bit Oriflame Peach Me also mix with this for an extra festive glow.
From Wet N Wild Coverall Concealer Palette I am using Cover shade to hide my dark circle and also it using on my bridge of the nose, middle of the forehead, chin to highlight those areas. Then blend it and then apply Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in the shade medium for a little bit more brighten up my under eyes because my eye makeup is slightly dramatic and set it with the help of Maybelline Superfresh Compact in the shade shell.
Now my base is ready.

Contouring and Highlighting:
For contouring I am using Essence Bronze Powder on my hollows of the cheek, side of the nose, on the jawline, and on the forehead. Contouring makes my face more sculpted and defined.
For highlighting applied Loreal Paris True Match Lumi Powder Glow Illuminator in the shade golden dore on my, as usual, high points of the face. It makes my face more bright and glowy.
- Lips:
LAKME Enrich Lip Crayon in the shade Mauve Magic I am applying to fill my lips. It’s a pinkish mauve colour in a blue undertone.
This is the final makeup look
I hope this will be helpful to you…
