Rosewater is one of those ingredients that use in most of the skin & hair care products from ancient times. Famous Egyptian queen Cleopatra also had rose water in her beauty regime. Rosewater is a byproduct of the rose oil which uses in perfume. To make pure rosewater we must need good quality rose petals and distilled water. Today in this blog, I will talk about the uses of rose water in some other way:

Rosewater is a magic potion for our skin. Any sensitive, acne-prone skin type can use rose water without any doubt. It is a natural astringent. It balances and restores the skin’s pH level which results, tightens open pores and rejuvenates our skin. Rosewater improves skin cells and reduces water loss. That’s why you can use it in dry weather, in the air-conditioned place where your skin becomes dehydrated.

Rosewater is a chemical-free, non-alcoholic toner that’s why you can use it 365 days in a year. It also helps us to remove the leftover of the preceding cleansing process (like removing makeup). It also cleanses and purifies the pores and reduces the chances of formation of acne. Regular use of rose water gives you natural glowy and beautiful hydrated skin.

The use of rose water for hair has not been widely studied. Rosewater has beneficial features that can make it good also for the hair and scalp. Rosewater has a beautiful soothing fragrance that can remove bad odor from the hair. It also helps to reduce the scalp’s oiliness because it has astringent properties. You can use it into your scalp with the help of a cotton or spray bottle, this prevents the formation of dandruff and reduces itchiness of the scalp.

Rosewater For Acne:

Rosewater+Lemon face mask ⇒ Mix 1sp rosewater with 1/4 lemon juice and apply on the affected area. Lemon is a powerhouse of vitamin C and it has immune-boosting properties that increase collagen production into the skin. Its regular use can lighten acne scars. Rosewater is one of the good sources of antioxidant that repairs skin cells, reduces free radicals that also controls early signs of aging.

Rosewater For Dehydrated Skin:

Rosewater and Honey face mask ⇒ You just need 1tbs rosewater and 1tsp honey. Mixed it well and directly apply for 15-20 minutes on all over your face, neck and also you can use it on your body also. You can be mixed 1tsp lemon juice but it is optional. Within 7 days you can see the result. Your skin becomes very soft, bright, clear, hydrated and fresh. We also can use this mask overnight. In the morning clean the face with normal water and pat dry.

What are the benefits of applying rosewater and honey?

Honey has anti-inflammatory properties that delay the ageing process and moisturized skin and it has anti-bacterial properties that fight with various skin problems. Rosewater maintains skin pH balance and reduces redness of irritated skin, and gives a soothing effect.

Effects of Rosewater on Face Overnight: 

In summer you can apply rose water on the clear face overnight. Spray 2-3 pump of rosewater on the face or take it in cotton and dab it on face gently. It gives you a calming effect and its antioxidants properties repair skin damages. Also, the aroma of rosewater relaxes your mind. In one word bed-time is the best to let rosewater work its magic on your skin.

Rosewater is a multifunctional beauty product. you can use it in your skincare, hair care and also as your body spray/mist. Rosewater has a calming mild fragrance. That calms our nervous system and reduces anxiety, decreases stress levels. And makes our mind relaxed and helping us to control our moods and emotions. You can spray some rose water on your pillow for relaxation of mind and good sleep after a hectic, stressful day.

To Soothe razor/waxing burn:

Rosewater can also be used as an aftershave lotion because it has anti-inflammatory properties. Aftershaves are toners, however, because most aftershaves are primarily made of alcohol and perfume, they damage the skin by disturbing the recovery of the mantle, which is destroyed by shaving soap and razor blade use. Also after waxing it works the same. Reduces redness and irritation of the skin and giving a calming effect.

How To Make Rose Water At Home:

If you want to make your rose water at home, then start with half a dozen good quality scented roses and also you need distilled water. Now in market varieties of hybrid roses are available. You choose the right roses for your rose water which has natural fragrance and colour. 

  1. First, cleanse the roses very well with the normal water
  2. Then separate all rose petals and place it in a large container
  3. After that, take a pan and pour distilled water into it and boiled in medium heat
  4. Next place all rose petals into the boiled water and cover the pot by a lid
  5. Then boiled this for approximate 20-25minutes until the petals become discolored
  6. Next, strain the water and have to wait until it cools down
  7. After that store it in a clean bottle, in a cool place

I am suggesting you that use this rosewater within 10-12 days. Because it has no preservatives that’s why it can be decomposed.
